Privacy Policy

Sky OS (“Sky,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is a desktop application that gives the internet a spatial environment. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

The short version: we collect very little. Most of your data stays on your device. We don't sell your data to anyone.

Account information — when you create a Sky OS account, we store basic profile information such as your name and email address. This is used to identify your account and enable features that sync across devices.

Bookmarks and synced data — your bookmarks are stored on our servers (powered by Convex) so they can sync across your devices. This is the only user-generated content we store remotely.

Anonymous analytics — we collect anonymous usage analytics to understand how Sky is used and improve the product. This data does not include your name, email, IP address, or any personally identifiable information. We use privacy-focused analytics that do not track individual users across sessions.

We believe in collecting only what we need. Sky OS does not collect:

The majority of your data in Sky OS lives entirely on your device. Your spaces, layouts, window arrangements, local settings, and preferences are stored locally and never sent to our servers.

If you uninstall Sky OS, this local data is removed with it.

Sky OS is a spatial environment for web applications. When you use web apps inside Sky, those apps operate under their own privacy policies — just as they would in any browser. Sky does not modify, intercept, or monitor the data exchanged between you and those services.

We use the following services to operate Sky OS:

Sky OS the desktop application does not use cookies for tracking. Our website (skyos.computer) uses only essential cookies required for basic functionality. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

We take reasonable measures to protect your data. Account information and synced bookmarks are stored in secure, encrypted infrastructure. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your account information and synced bookmarks for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your data from our servers within 30 days.

Anonymous analytics data is aggregated and cannot be tied back to any individual user.

You can request to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can also request a copy of all data we hold about you.

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the application or by other means. Continued use of Sky OS after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
